Hi, I'm Maggie Hill. In 1976 I went out to buy my Mom a new puppy and came home with two Pomeranians. This started me on the path of breeding quality Poms which I still do occasionally. In 1979 I got into the pet retail business with Seattle Pet Center. While not my first love, the pet store was, nonetheless, the largest and longest running, continually owned pet store in Seattle. After having our son my husband and I decided to shut down Seattle Pet in 1997. About 2 years later and still raising Poms, I started getting calls from the ladies who would bring puppies into the store to sell asking if I would help them place their puppies. Having never bought from a "Puppy Mill" like a lot of pet stores will when I had the store open these home, hobby breeders, like me, had become good friends and we kept in touch. Thus we set up SEATTLEPET.COM which specialized only in small breed AKC puppies. I would advertise and coordinate the showing of their puppies for them and they would raise the healthiest, cutest little balls of energy around. Everyone in our group participates in the American Kennel Club's DNA Certification Program and is licensed and inspected by the AKC plus any governmental regulations in their area. My husband is the brains behind the website's technical operation but also a huge fan of our little dogs and I've seen him sit up all night and hold a homesick puppy. We are not the typical pet owners. Puppies are shown by appointment only, thus reducing stress and helping us control the exposure of the puppy to disease. All visitors are required to show identification before entering to protect our babies from theft. We will not "meet you in a parking lot" to show you a puppy, that is great way to spot an unscrupulous pet retailer. Once you have come to see a puppy you can go over their paperwork, shot records, pictures of the parents and are encouraged to contact the breeder, if she is not present, if you have any questions about the puppy. We don't post our ladies contact information on the Internet to afford them some privacy. There are "Puppy Shoppers" who will try to obtain our puppies and re-sell them which is something we don't want to happen. Many of these puppy shoppers advertise on the Internet as being able to provide you anything you want. Well, that's how they supply it!! We don't want to be a part of that. We have lots of references so you can check out our background and make sure that we have a stellar reputation. No Shipping is done by us! If you would like to ship a puppy we can give you advice on how to do it but will NOT do it for you. We even car-pool the babies to reduce stress and all our ladies are located in the Pacific Northwest. All puppies are kept in clean, spacious pens with heated beds, T.V. or radio, lots of toys, plenty of food and water round the clock. We are all dedicated to making sure that each puppy is happy, settled in, and gets lots of love, affection and playtime. Yours, Maggie Hill
